I grew up watching the 90′s Nickelodeon shows and cartoons. You know the ones- Clarissa Explains It All, All That, Rugrats, Doug, Kenan & Kel, Rocko’s Modern Life, The Ren & Stimpy Show, CatDog, Aahh! Real Monsters, Are You Afraid of the Dark. I’m sure I probably missed some other good ones but those are the ones I could think of right off. Oh and the game shows like Legends of the Hidden Temple. I found it amusing when my sons discovered Kenan & Kel. They like the Fanta orange drink and when they order it at a restaurant one of them will say “who loves orange soda? I love orange soda. Is it true? Oh yes I do, I do, I do-ooo.” I crack up every time. Not sure what I’m talking about? Check out the Kenan & Kel orange soda clip I dug up on YouTube.

My cousin, Matty, is a bartender at a restaurant and bar called The Wave in Norfolk, VA. He will be helping me with my drink recipes here sometimes. Our first drink that we are sharing is a cocktail inspired by our enjoyment of the 90′s Nickelodeon shows we grew up on. I wanted something sweet and something to go along with the orange color associated to Nickelodeon. It’s the nick, nick, nick, nick, na, nick, nick, nick… Nicke-loaded cocktail.

  1. I am totally missing out. We didn’t have Nickelodeon when I was younger, nor in the 90′s. SO I’m completely clueless on the shows. I should look them up so I can see the relation. I know a few people that would really enjoy that cocktail.

  5. The drink looks really good. I love anything orange flavored. Totally loved all of those same shows from the 90s. It’s awesome when we find the old ones like that on TV every once in awhile.
